Huawei Unveils Three New Android Devices

Huawei launched its cloud services in India with the launch of its MediaPad tablet and two other smartphones, all three devices are with Android operating system.

MediaPad is a 7 inch tablet with Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system powered by a 1.2 Ghz dual core Qualcomm processor. The tablet measures just 10.5 millimeters and weighs 390 grams.



It has a WXGA display with 1280x800 pixels of resolution, made of an IPS (In-plane switching) screen which is said to be better than TFT screen. The tablet has a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera and 5 megapixel auto-focus rare camera with the capacity to record HD videos.

It has a 4100 mAh battery as well that is expected to provide a decent performance. It also has HDMI output, HSPA, WiFi, GPS, and AGPS. Huawei's MediaPad is priced at Rs 28,359.

Along with the MediaPad tablet Huawei also launched two new android smartphone, Huawei Sonic and Huawei Ideos X3. These two smartphone are priced at 9,210 and 10,229 respectively.

Samsung Wave 3 Coming to India

It is expected that the Samsung Wave 3 Smartphone will hit the Indian markets by mid or the end of week two in the month of December. Samsung Wave 3 is priced at 19,600.


The new Samsung Wave 3 features a 4 inch Super Amoled display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution. It will run on a 1.4 GHz processor and have an improved TouchWiz user interface that would ensure a better user experience. Along with that for shutter bugs, the Wave 3 carries a 5 MP camera at the back with LED flash, capable of recording 720p HD videos.





The handset will come with latest Bada 2.0 operating system which is considerably faster than previous Bada devices. Bada 2.0 will also support HTML5 and improved Flash functions, thus offering enhanced usability and web experience. It will feature a wide variety of new capabilities that includes multi-tasking, WiFi Direct (which allows Wi-Fi devices to share content without the need for wireless access points such as routers), Near Field Communication (NFC), and voice recognition.



France will be the first country to get this Smartphone following closely with delivery of the Smartphone in countries like Germany, Italy and Russia.

G'Five Launches Triple SIM Mobile with Analog TV

G'Five has launched two new models, touch and type G303, and G616. The G'Five G303 is a touch and type phone with a unique form factor. Available in three colours (red, black and coffee) for Rs 3,900, it is targeted at the youth.



The all new G'Five G303 is a dual-SIM dual standby phone with features such as a 7.1 cm (2.8 inch) resistive touchscreen, dual speakers, dual camera (1.3 megapixel camera with flash at the rear and a digital camera in front), an 850 mAh battery, short range wireless connectivity with A2DP, LED torch, expandable memory up to 8 GB and analog TV. Intel's Medfield Chip for Smartphone & Tablet

Intel shows off its foremost Smartphones and Tablets based on Medfield processor. Intel is planning to represent its new mobile System-on-a-Chip (SoC), Medfield in Consumer Electronics Show in January 2012.




The upcoming Smartphone and Tablet will run on Google’s latest Android OS. Medfield is one of the latest mobile chips revealed by Intel .Currently, maximum phones and tablets have ARM designs but with the demonstration of Medfield, Intel is hoping to replace ARM with Medfield. The reason behind it is, till now ARM has dominated the mobile chips market and now Medfield has come up with a major technological step which would consume less power.


The size of the sample Smartphone is similar to the iPhone 4 but comparatively lighter. The performance of the phone is good and is balancing the market with the latest Android and iPhone device. The Smartphone could play Blu-ray quality video and the web browsing is faster and smooth. As per Smith, the Vice President of Intel's architecture group, Intel has generated this Medfield Chip to speed up Android apps and Web browsing, reveals in Technology Review Magazine.



Intel’s reference Tablet like the Smartphone would also run on the latest Android version with Medfield chip. The display screen of the Tablet is little larger than the iPad 2 but has same width and weight.



With the entry of Apple in the Smartphone market, Intel concentrated only on Netbooks and mobile Internet devices larger than Smartphones which never became popular. The reentry of Intel into the Smartphone and Tablet market with the new Medfield chip seems promising. The price and the performance are yet to notice with the introduction of the devices into the market.

Acer to Launch 15 inch Ultrabook at Cheaper Price

After the satisfactory sales on 11 and 13 inch ultrabook models, Acer is now planning to step into the large screen market by launching 15 inch ultrabook.


The 15 inch ultrabook is being produced by Pegatron Technologies, a Taiwan based design and manufacturing company, reports DigiTimes. It also says that the 15 inch ultrabook will be available in the market at a cheaper price of $699 whereas many other ultrabooks have a higher price closer to $1000.





Previously Acer has launched the 13 inch ultrabook Aspire S3 at 49.000 ($899) and the interesting part is Acer’s upcoming new 15 inch ultrabook will be available just at $699 (price not available in India) which is cheaper than Aspire S3.



Acer has not mentioned the specification of its new ultrabook. However it might not run into Intel’s design specifications in support of power and thickness, says tech experts and the existing Acer’s ultrabook models are expected to sale 2.5 lakh to 3 lakh units by the end of this month.



Acer is expected to launch its new ultrabook in 2012. Therefore Apple is also in a race, working on its 15 inch MacBook Air version which will be launched in the first half of 2012.

Price! A Concern for Windows 8 Tablet

With the official release of Microsoft’s new Windows 8 Developer Preview Edition (DPE), a perfect platform for touch screen devices and suitable for the tablets. Many tablets lovers are wondered what would be the price of Windows 8 tablets which has made a buzz in the tablet market from last few months. While there are no tablets launched yet with Windows 8 platform. Many computer manufacturers like Dell, HP, Acer, Sony Lenovo and Asus are working on new Windows 8 tablet but none of them have mentioned the price.



During the official release of Windows 8 DPE, Microsoft showcased the Samsung Windows 8 Tablet. Now Samsung is talking about the plans of launching Windows 8 tablet in the second half of 2012 and it will be the first to launch Windows 8 based tablets. Samsung has also announced the configuration of its new Windows 8 tablet. It has 11.6 inch touch screen with 1.366 x 768 screen resolution, Intel Core i5-2467M 1.6 GHz dual-core processor and 4 GB of RAM. For connectivity it has 3G, WiFi, Ethernet and micro HDMI connector. By seeing all the configuration tech experts has assumed the price would be around $900.



Apple and Android are leaders of the tablet market right now. Apple’s iPad starts its pricing at 29,000 ($299) for the cheapest model and Android tablets that comes with different manufacturer stats its basic model price at 10,000 ($99). Another entry in the tablet world which made a tough competition with the Apple and Android tablets is the Amazon’s Kindle Fire which is for around 13.999 ($199).



There is a lot of talk in the tech world that Windows 8 tablet will be expensive and can be at a price range of $750 to $1500. But comparing the prices of other leading tablets in the market, Microsoft has to come down a lot on the price to compete with Apple and Android based tablets.
