Is Facebook Building Its Own Phone

Rumors of a Facebook phone are back in the news again. Facebook is working with cell phone maker HTC to build a smartphone with the Facebook social networking technology built into the core of the device.

It also considered Samsung to make the device, but went with HTC instead. HTC has made at least two phones already with dedicated Facebook buttons. The Salsa and ChaCha, which have Facebook buttons, were introduced earlier this year.

There are other phone manufacturers that have put Facebook buttons on their phones, including INQ Mobile and Motorola. The new phone by Facebook is code named Buffy and it will be based on a modified version of Android, which has been tweaked by Facebook so that its services are deeply integrated.

Buffy is different from these devices by providing instant access to Facebook and it will have the social networking technology developed by the company integrated into the device like Windows phone OS has Facebook and twitter integrated within.

Facebook mobile is not an important element for its social networking strategy, but it's yet to know why the company plans to build the device. If it chooses to build its own Facebook phone to face competition in the smartphone market.

"The iPhone 5 is on track to be introduced in summer of 2012, and is still in the engineering phase, not early production," said iLounge. "We suspect that poor battery life doomed the prior prototype version, and that this one is being built with LTE-ready battery drain in mind."

Along with iPhone5 release in 2012, iPad 3 also hot listed to hit the market in 2012. iPad 3 will be thicker than its preceding model and it will embrace with a twin light bar system. Samsung Galaxy Mini

Samsung Galaxy Mini
The Mini marks its presence when compared to other budget Android devices, the phone is slightly smaller.Despite the presence of Android 2.2 Froyo, the Galaxy Mini's browser doesn't support Adobe Flash. Like the LG Optimus One, the Mini runs on an ARMv6 CPU, and an ARMv7 chip is required for Flash support. It's a drawback that Samsung didn't launch the handset with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Due to this Samsung Mini lacks updating of new Android operating system with which it is opened towards malware and has threats of hackers, lack of data security.

HTC Desire

HTC Desire
The HTC Desire is one of the high end phone by HTC bringing a huge 3.7" inch high quality AMOLED screen for crystal clear viewing, powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and runs on Android. There are other specifications a user could expect including wifi b/g, bluetooth and GPS, digital compass and accelerometer, all of which Android can take advantage of.

HTC have pre-installed a Twitter client as well as Facebook to take care of Social networking needs. Other applications are available both free and paid on the Android market. But as it runs on Android operating system that has older versions of software?s there are more chances of malwares because of it.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10
The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is the first Android device of the manufacturer and the operating system itself has been causing quite a stir in the cell phone world in. The handset comes with downright monstrous hardware features and runs on 1GHz Snapdragon processor and 8.1-megapixel camera.

The lack of multitouch is a hardware issue and this means that you won't be able to get multitouch support by installing additional software. Outdated versions of Android often lack security protections included in later versions.

Sanyo Zio

Sanyo Zio

The Zio measures 4.6 by 2.3 by 0.5 inches and weighs104 grams. It's made entirely of plastic, but the tapered edges and soft touch battery cover make it comfortable to hold.

The 3.5inch touch screen sports 480x800 pixel resolution. That's ultra-sharp for a budget Android phone. With the old version of Android it suffers the same problem which other Android phones are struggling to recover.

HTC Wildfire

HTC Wildfire
The HTC Wildfire is a touchscreen handset that runs Android 2.1 with the user-friendly HTC Sense UI. With a 3.2-inch of capacitive touchscreen, HTC has gone all-out on the social networking features for the Wildfire, integrating Facebook into everything from the calendar to caller ID.

Sharing Android apps has also been made simple with a system for sending links to friends from the handset. Though it has all features that an Android Smartphone should have, it lags behind in information security as it runs in the older version that does not have capacity to avoid hacking or malwares.

Samsung Epic 4G

Samsung Epic 4G
Android Market has 250,000 apps and raising that are useful apps for every aspect of a user, from popular games to travel guides to financial tools. The Wi-Fi enabled Epic 4G gives you Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps, Google Search and other great Google Mobile apps.

As it runs on an Android operating system it will be a threat because of older versions as they are unfit to avoid damages made by hackers or malwares.

LG Optimus S

LG Optimus S

Some manufacturers are going the software route and adding custom skins to their devices. Others are concentrating on hardware method by throwing fast processors and lots of memory into their devices.

The Optimus S features the latest Android innovation and the ability to customize your experience. Move from item to item and message faster with the 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen with 320x480 resolution and a virtual QWERTY. It is a most welcomed victim for malwares as these Android phones will not be updated with new version that kills data security.

Samsung Galaxy S

Samsung Galaxy S
It is a high-end feature packed phone and the Samsung Galaxy S has always been known for its 1GHz Hummingbird processor. The GPU on this thing alone made it more than capable of handling almost any 3D game. Other specifications include a 5MP camera capable of recording some of the highest quality 720p HD video and a 1.3MP front facing camera.

Samsung also pre-installed the phone with Swype - an incredibly fast typing method, & an office viewer for viewing and editing all important documents, spreadsheets. With the sleek design, eye-catching specs and international distribution, the Samsung Galaxy S was a global hit. But the main reason to be in the vulnerable list is that it lacks updated version of Android that safeguards information security by keeping away all forms of hacking or malware.

Motorola Droid X

Motorola Droid X
The Droid X was running Android 2.1 with a revised version of Motoblur software. There is a new navigation bar along the bottom that lets you easily jump to different Android panes. The Droid X has a 4.3-inch, FWVGA 854 x 480-resolution screen.

Like all Android phones Motorola Droid X has its own specifications in order to reach its users. But like all other Android phones this lacks new updated version without which it brings in problems like malwares that has to be faced by users.

LG Optimus One

LG Optimus One
LG Optimus One is a standard 3.2-inch Android 2.2 Smartphone for the users. This is yet another Android phone where there's no optical or digital trackpad option to be found. Being an Android phone this has also not escaped from the hands of hackers which destroy information security.

It should not be too late to update the Smartphone?s with new versions of Android that keeps malware activities controlled. With this a user will be safe about the data security in future with its help.
